Landscape Express really put in the extra effort in installing my lawn. They kept in contact with the grass company and had the grass I ordered delivered as soon as was available. The day it was delivered the crew showed up to 35 degree temperatures and drizzling rain. Despite being cold and drenched and having to deal with very, very sloppy mud, they worked all day until the job was done right. I was very impressed watching them work. The conditions were terrible, yet they took their time and carefully installed each square of grass. To ready the site, they picked up sticks, pulled weeds, raked the existing soil level, removed the erosion barrier, removed renegade tree roots, and then added a layer of mulch over the yard. Juan even put several yards of dirt into some flower beds I'd laid out, along with taking the time to properly anchor the landscape edging that I'd used. He even went around and picked up available rocks to line the bed along the open wrought iron fence.
When they were done, Juan asked about my satisfaction. By this time, it was dark and his crew had been at work for 12 hours. I mentioned that I would like some more dirt added to the flower beds and he immediately said 'sure no problem'. A few days later, after the underlying lawn soil had dried enough to walk on without causing the sod to sink, he showed up with plenty of dirt to top off the flowerbeds. A couple of existing sprinkler heads (installed by someone else) were too low for the new sod and he even brought someone out to dig up and place the sprinkler heads at the correct height.
I had priced a couple of other companies and Juan's base price was higher than the other companies. They, however, had fees for leveling the yard, adding dirt to the flower beds, etc. When I calcualted the fees and compared that with Landscape Express's base price, there was very little difference. Plus, Landscape Express did other 'extras' that I had not even priced with other companies. I went with Landscape Express because in my meeting with Juan, he seemed very sincere and invested in doing a good, complete job for the price quoted. He was very responsive to meeting me and keeping me informed as to the state of my grass order. He did everything, even things that were not really his responsibility (sprinklers, edging, rocks, removal of erosion fence)... all to make sure I was completely happy with the job.
I could not more highly recommend Landscape Express. It is a small company where they really work to take care of their customers and make sure the job is done to the customer's complete satisfaction.
